During my college years, God began to place a call on my life to minister to women. Back then, I had no idea this would develop into a passion for supporting and serving women during pregnancy and birth! My goal, as a certified labor doula, is to empower mothers to understand their options and make decisions that can lead to a peaceful and joyful birth experience.

In 2005, I moved to Birmingham from my hometown of Norman, OK. I married my wonderful husband in 2006. Even before I became pregnant, I began to learn about birth options and became intrigued by the natural process of birth. When my first daughter was born in 2008, a doula was there to help me and my husband. It was a difficult labor and birth, yet it was so beautiful. My doula's physical presence, educated coaching, and amazing endurance made such a difference. I truly believe I could not have had a vaginal birth without her!

After this experience, pregnant friends and acquaintances were drawn to hear my birth story. I found myself enthusiastically researching and sharing information to help them prepare for the birth experiences they desired. Suddenly I realized, I love this! This is how God wants to use me to care for women. So, in 2009, I trained with Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA) to become a certified labor doula. 

Since then, I have attended more than 150 births with mothers in a variety of circumstances—first-time moms, seasoned moms, VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and high-risk moms. The opportunity to journey alongside these courageous, life-giving women as they overcome their fears and deliver their sweet babies into this world is something I will never grow tired of.
