Ever since I was little it has always been my dream to be a mother and raise a family. The Lord has been so faithful to my husband and I by blessing us with three beautiful children. We have a girl and two boys. Our two oldest were both unmedicated hospital births and we celebrated the birth of our youngest son in the comfort of our home.

When I became pregnant with our daughter it was always my mission to have a natural birth with her. I credit so much of my success of achieving the natural birth I had always dreamed of to the support of my amazing doula. She carried me through every step and encouraged me throughout the entire process.

My experience with birth gave light to the plan the Lord had for me. I finally saw the bigger picture of what had been had been laid on my heart so long ago. I knew exactly what the next season of my life was going to bring.

My birth with my first was exactly what I had imagined birth looking like so when I experienced some unforeseen circumstances postpartum, having my doula there made a world of difference. She remianed a steady comfort to me, my husband and our family in a time that was difficult to navigate.

Having the support of my own doula in every circumstance I faced with all of my births helped me realize that my job doesn’t end at birth. Immediate and extended postpartum support is sacred and should be easily accessible.

It is my goal to build a meaningful relationship with every mother I am welcomed to support.

I graduated with my Associates Degree in Nursing in 2013 and it was evident there was more to birth than what a traditional hospital setting could offer. I worked as a nurse and a doula for nearly five years before taking the leap from nursing to fulfill my dreams as a doula full time.

In addition to doula work, after having my second child I took on my next adventure and became the placenta encapsulator for GCS in 2018.

The birth of my daughter was also the birth of my doula joirney. I wanted to be that empowering force for others the way my doula was for me. I made it official through the CAPPA organization in March 2016 as a Certified Labor Doula (CLD).

The moment that a mama looks into her baby's eyes and says "We did it!" is what makes it all worth it.

I am not only blessed but truly honored to stand beside these women through one of the most important journeys in their lives. I believe that birth is a normal, natural process. I am grateful to be asked to support a first time mom or a seasoned mom bring the birth they are trying to achieve to life. It is an absolute privilege and joy to encourage and support these women through every wave leading up to special moment.

I have attended over 50 births and encapsulated almost 100 placentas! I have worked at all Birmingham hospitals and surrounding areas, as well as many home births as far out as Tuscaloosa and Anniston.

This is my passion and I'm always learning and growing with every birth I attended and every family I meet.

Every birth still takes my breath away and I am never not amazed by the power women hold.

It's ALWAYS A great day for a BIRTHday.
